General Instructions
- Students are not restricted from entering a contest because of previous participation.
- Individual winners will be determined from all participants. Certificates will be awarded to the top three (3) places in each event.
- All objective tests will be one hour in length.
- Students will be provided Scantron sheets.
- Participants must furnish their own No. 2 pencils, erasers, and non-graphing calculators. (They may be purchased from the bookstore)
- Calculators may be used in all objective tests.
However, graphing calculators, PDAs (ie iPads, iPod touches, Smart Phones), cell phones, or other memory storage devices are not allowed in any test. - Competitive events are open to all students with the exceptions noted.
- Participants must follow the FBLA Dress Code and Competitive Event Guidelines.
Registration Information
- Please verify that all names are spelled correctly. Name tags and certificates will be printed according to the names submitted during registration.

- FBLA National Guidelines will be followed.
- Students and advisers must follow the FBLA dress code.
- Name tags will be provided and will be required during the event.
- Each student may compete in up to three events. (There is no limit to the number of students per school per objective test.)
- Students must be FBLA members. (State and National dues must be paid before the competition date.)
- We will need advisers to help administer and proctor at least one test session.
- If a student is not testing during a session, other activities will be available.
- The registration fee is $15 per student and will include lunch.
- Online registration closes Jan 26, 2012
- After Jan 26, 2012 you may still register additional participants, but must contact us at poulsen@dixie.edu to do so.
A late registration fee of $5 will be assessed for each participant registered this way ($20 total).
No late registration will be accepted for "performance events." - Please make any checks payable to Dixie State College

Peformance Event Instructions
Digital Video Production
- Limited to two (2) per high school.
- Two (2) copies of video must be provided on either DVD or USB flash drives at registration for prejudging.
- National Topic, guidelines, and rating sheets will be used.
- 7 minutes allowed for presentation.
- 5 minutes will be allowed for setup and takedown.
- As per national guidelines participants must provide all equipment for the presentation.
However we will have a projector available, but no laptop or DVD players will be provided.
E-business
- Limited to two (2) per high school.
- Site URL must be provided two (2) weeks (Jan 26, 2012) before for prejudging.
- National Topic, guidelines, and rating sheets will be used.
- 5 minute presentation.
- 5 minutes will be allowed for setup and takedown.
- Projetor will be provided.
- Internet will be available.
- As per national guidelines (starting this year) teams must provide their own laptop.
However we will have one available in case a student is not able to provide their own, but schools should be made aware of this change!
Job Interview
- Open to 11th and 12th grade.
- Limited to two (2) per high school.
- 10 minute interview.
- A resume and cover letter are required and must be submitted at registration the morning of the competition.
Public Speaking I
- Open to 9th and 10th grade.
- Limited to two (2) per high school.
- Four-minute prepared speech on one of the FBLA Goals. Please see national guidelines for more details.
Public Speaking II
- Open to 11th and 12th grade.
- Limited to two (2) per high school.

Web Site Design
